Megaton Story
Megaton was a rock and roll band that was formed in 1987 in Cernavoda, Romania. The founder of Megaton, Lucian Calugaru, he was 25 years old at the time, created Megaton with a couple of local musicians from a small Romanian city by the Black Sea, Cernavoda. Sorin Popescu, aka "Pustiul", bass guitar, Dan Taranu, drums and Florin Ceaca, keyboards.
The funding for musical equipment was quite a struggle in communist Romania but help was under way from the Workers Syndicate led by Nicu Beldea, who shortly became the band Manager and promoter.
Megaton Journey
The band Megaton rapidly succeeded and won a few local and regional contests such as The National Festival "Cintarea Romaniei", 1st place, in 1988. The band broke up with their founder in 1989 and continued to act under the name Megaton, performing local gigs, social events and concerts.
Lucian Calugaru left Romania to New York, USA and started Megatone One Music Production company in 2023.

Lucian founded Megaton One Music Production LLC. Our mission is to bring music and fun to the community and to share our music creations, compositions, live concerts and recording sessions.
